Walk The Goyt Way The Goyt Way is a 10 mile route, which has many car parks & points of access to public transport on the way. This gives you the opportunity to either walk all of the route, or just part of it, knowing that you can easily return to where you started. Starting off at the Canal Basin in Whaley Bridge, you will start the route by walking along the towpath, passing many interesting points on the way , including the New Mills Heritage Centre. Leaving the canal path, you will then start venturing onto tracks, where you will catch sight of Strines Print Works reservoir, and other structures of historical interest. You later have the opportunity to walk again on the towpath, alongside the locks, of which there are 16! The route eventually ends in Etherow Country Park, where you are sure to find refreshments.
