Richard is a fine art photographer who specialises in landscapes pictures of the Peak District and the UK. His passion lies in taking photographs at first or last light where soft golden colours transform beautiful landscapes into something special, creating evocative and atmospheric images.
Richard sells his work to both individuals and businesses and products include framed and mounted prints, canvas prints, greetings cards, and calendars. Richard sells his work at exhibitions in the Peak District throughout the year.

As a regular member of ephotozine, an online photography magazine, Richard posts photographs to the site and regularly obtains awards from the Editor. He has also won ‘Photo of the week’ for a photograph taken at Happisburgh in Norfolk.
In 2009, Richard was selected to be part of the Peak District Artisans group which is a highly successful association of professional fine artists, designer makers and artisans based in and around the Peak District. Members are selected for their outstanding creative works- and include up and coming as well as internationally renowned individuals.

His photographs have also been widely published in magazines and include Country Walking and various photography magazines.
Background
From an early age, Richard has always had an interest in photography but was just a ‘snapper’ whilst on holidays. Around the age of 18, he decided to learn black and white film photography and converted a room in his house into a darkroom to process and enlarge the photos he’d taken (without much success!). In 2005, Richard bought his first digital SLR camera with the objective to learn more about photography and started heading out into the Peak District. After a steep learning curve and many mistakes, Richard started producing work that he was getting happy with. This progressed for a few years to get where he is today. Although still working full time, it is Richards dream to be able to be a full time landscape photographer.
