Tom’s and Douglas’ Barns started life a couple of centuries ago as rather mundane farm buildings, housing cows. Transformed now into two charmingly romantic cottages, they are enjoyed and appreciated these days by couples of all ages who delight in the opportunity to enjoy precious time together in welcoming luxurious comfort, in an idyllic rural village setting with instant access to the countryside and walks galore, within easy reach of Dovedale, Chatsworth, Haddon, Tissington, Carsington Water and Buxton Opera House.

Tom’s and Douglas’ Barns are set in Parwich one of the Sunday Times top 50 places to live in England. The peaceful, beautiful location is in wonderful walking country. The village is small with friendly people with its own pub and little shop. Food is available at the pub lunchtime and evening.

Our aim is to make both our barns the sort of holiday cottages we would ideally love to stay in, where you feel really welcome , well cared for and instantly at home.

Tom’s Barn has much of the original structure, is furnished with a blend of antique and modern with the romantic luxury of a log burner. Dogs are very welcome in this barn.

Douglas’ Barn is our quirky but gorgeous romantic hideaway for two. The perfect retreat, it’s warm stylish and peaceful, just the place to take the stress out of your busy lifestyle relaxing in its whirlpoolbath.

Both barns are fully equipped with all the appliances you should need, all towels and bedding is provided and in the kitchen cupboards you will find a range of basic foodstuffs such as tea, coffee. A welcome pack is provided with fresh eggs from a Parwich farm, milk, butter, Angela’s homemade marmalade.

The owners Angela and Robert live on site so they will be there to welcome and settle you in. The kettle will have bolied and fresh cake will be waiting to refresh you after your journey.
