Thornbridge Lodge

The property offers flexible bed layouts and they are all pleasantly decorated with neutral colours and fresh linen. Off the inner hall in the main part of the lodge there are two ground floor bedrooms (one can be a twin or double and the other a double only). These two bedrooms share a family bathroom with bath and separate shower enclosure.

Up a flight of stairs you will find one first floor double bedroom (double only) with en suite shower, wc and basin (no space for a cot in this room). Using the external access within the private courtyard to a small cottage attached to the lodge, there is another en suite king size double bedroom (double only) – note this has external access and a narrow spiral staircase. This is a light and airy spacious rooms with beamed ceiling.

Downstairs is a second sitting room which can also be used as a bedroom with two x comfortable sofa beds for two extra guests of great as a family suite

The open plan kitchen and dining room is designed to comfortably seat 10 guests. The fully fitted country style kitchen in a fresh cream finish is equipped with modern appliances and stocked so that you will have everything your need to make your self catering stay comfortable.

There is a Fridge, separate freezer, microwave , toaster ,gas hob and oven. electric kettle and large dishwasher.

One of the pleasures of the lodge is the huge private courtyard which has outdoor seating and a BBQ so if the weather is in your favour alfresco dining is a must

No need to use your car all weekend as you are situated right on the Monsal Trail which leads to the historic market town of Bakewell (40 mins stroll, 10 minutes cycle ride) passing the popular Hassop Station cafe where you can hire bikes. Leading off the beaten trail, there are numerous footpaths for you to head in whatever direction takes your fancy.

Thornbridge Lodge also has an enviable location just on the cusp of the pretty village of Great Longstone, walking distance from not just one but a selection of really good, heart-warmingly traditional pubs. This includes the local’s favourite The Pack Horse in Little Longstone (15 minutes walk!), The White Lion in Great Longstone and a leisurely walk through fields to the picture postcard village of Ashford in the Water which is served by two well respected pubs, The Bulls Head & The Ashford Arms. For unbeatable famous views of the viaduct, you can jump on the trail and head through the tunnel to the Monsal Head Hotel with the fabulous traditional Stable Bar and fantastic outside seating area looking north westerly down into Monsal Dale is less than 15 minute’s walk away.

A short drive away are the most amazing of Peak District treats for you to enjoy – Bakewell (5 minutes), Chatsworth House (10 mins), Haddon Hall (10 minutes), historic spa town of Buxton (20 minutes) to name just a few.
