The Royal Oak

Introduction
The “Royal Oak” near Ashbourne, is an independent pub, restaurant and hotel with the addition of a separate function house with its own garden. As a former Georgian Coaching House the “Royal Oak” has been welcoming guests for hundreds of years. That hospitality continues today with great food and drink, genuine welcome, professional and friendly service and the offer of a comfy bed!
Accommodation
The Royal Oak provides an ideal base for tourists to explore the Peak District. The Georgian market town of Ashbourne is only 1.5 miles away and is known as the “Gateway to the Peaks.”
Equally worth a visit are towns such as Bakewell  and Buxton. For excitement we have Alton Towers at 7 miles and new for 2015, we can now offer family suites. For leisure activities such as walking and cycling numerous trails are available with Tissington Trail 2 miles and Carsington water at 8 miles.
For the business traveller we are ideally placed for Ashbourne, Derby, Leek and JCB World Headquarters at Rocester. Free WI FI throughout the hotel and a rate of £95 for a single occupancy room  with 3 course dinner and full English breakfast .
We have 7 bedrooms in total, all hinting at the age of the building but all modern in their decoration with quality furniture.  The beds are of an excellent quality with feather duvets.
Dining
With a very experienced award winning chef at the helm of our kitchen(AA multi Rosette, 3 Cocottes,Michelin pub guide listed and double winners of “The Taste of Staffordshire”), anything you order from a sandwich to a three course dinner will be prepared with care and beautifully presented.  We are also very pleased to welcome our new chef Ashley to the kitchen, who brings with him a wealth of gastro experience, so look out for those quirky touches that adorn the modern bistro menu.
