The Roaches Bunkhouse is located in the beautiful village of Upper Hulme in the Peak District National Park.  It’s the perfect base for climbers, walkers and cyclists, offering clean, warm, affordable bunkhouse accommodation for groups of up to 42 people. 

The Roaches Bunkhouse lies at the foot of The Roaches, a famous gritstone escarpment that stretches for 3 miles with magnificent views of Tittesworth Reservoir.  The edges provide some of the best gritstone climbing in the UK, with a number of famous routes up their rock faces.

There is wonderful walking, cycling and climbing country in every direction from the doorstep of The Roaches Bunkhouse.  We are located 150 metres from Ye Old Rock Inn, which serves excellent food and real ales.  There is also a tea shop within half a mile, and four further pubs within less than 2 miles.  The lovely market town of Leek is only 3 miles away.

The Roaches Bunkhouse Accommodation

The Roaches Bunkhouse is the perfect place to rest your head after a long day out in the fresh air of the Peak District.  We can accommodate up to 42 people, making the Bunkhouse ideal for outdoor experience groups, large group get-togethers, or even casual hen and stag events.  Sole use is available. 

The bedrooms are simple and clean, with two or four beds in bunks.  Under-sheets and pillows are provided but you should bring your own sleeping bag and towels.

There is a communal area with tables, chairs, log-burning stove, board games and a vending machine.  Wifi is available.  There are male/female bathroom areas with hot showers, toilets and wash basins. 

A fully-equipped self-catering kitchen is available, with a fridge, cooker, microwave, kettle, crockery, cutlery and pots & pans.  There is an outdoor barbecue and patio area. 

We also have a drying room if the Peak District weather gets the better of you!

Check-In: 2.00pm / Check-Out: 10.00am

Prices from £12 per person per night, or £500 per night for sole hire.  Please note, groups of more than 30 people must book for sole use. 

Dogs are welcome at The Roaches Bunkhouse too, for a nominal cost of £5 per dog per night (4 dogs max).  Please note that for the comfort of other guests, dogs are only allowed if you have booked the Bunkhouse for your sole use.  Please let us know when you book if you wish to bring dogs.
