Ollerbrook Barn dates from 1798 and has been lovingly converted into a comfortable family run guesthouse. It is situated in the farming hamlet of Ollerbrook Booth, one of the ancient booths (settlements) forming part of the parish of Edale.
Set spectacularly amidst the wildest scenery of the Derbyshire Peak District, Edale is the starting point of Britain’s first and most famous long-distance path, the 270 mile Pennine Way. There are also numerous shorter walks to suit everyone from the beginner to the amateur mountaineer.
The village has a shop, two pubs, two cafes, two part-time take-aways, a welcoming church
Despite its remote appeal Edale can be easily reached by road or by train on the Hope Valley line between Manchester and Sheffield, guests can be met at the station if necessary.
Whilst Edale is spectacular, there are many other attractions all but a short drive away. Just over the hill lies the attractive village of Castleton, with its popular show caves, gift shops and Norman castle. The stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are in easy reach, as well as the elegant spa town of Buxton, the market town of Bakewell and not forgetting the attractions of the Derbyshire Dales themselves.
At Ollerbrook Barn we welcome children of all ages. A cot can be provided by prior arrangement. We cater for vegetarians and can provide packed lunches and friendly advice to make your day trips complete.
The Ollerbrook Suite offers a comfortable double bedroom with a fully equipped en-suite with bath and walk-in shower. The bedroom has a panoramic view towards Hollins Cross,
and the bathroom has a fabulous view towards Grindsbrook and Kinder Scout.
Hollins View is at the front of the house and has a view towards Hollins Cross. It has a double bed and fully equipped en-suite private bathroom with shower.
Nab View offers a breath-taking view towards Grindsbrook and Kinder Scout at the rear of the house. It provides one double bed and an optional single bed.
Grindsbrook View is at the back of the house and also grants spectacular views of Grindsbrook and Kinder Scout. It offers a double bed.
Grindsbrook View and Nab View share a spacious fully fitted Bathroom with shower.
All rooms feature drinks making facilities and flat screen televisions with free-to-view satellite channels.
Whether you require a holiday, a short-break or are on a business trip to the Manchester or Sheffield areas, we can offer a warm, friendly, comfortable stay at Ollerbrook Barn with the wild appeal of Edale and its spectacular scenery.
Ollerbrook Booth is situated up an unmarked farm lane off the valley road, a quarter of a mile east of Edale public car park, look for a derelict farm building on the corner and “Ollerbrook only” sign. We are directly in front of you at the top of the lane.
