Our traditional stone-built pub dates back to the 18th century when it served as a Coaching Inn. The building holds many secrets – it was once used as a morgue during a spate of local murders in the 1700s. Today it’s very safe and is a great resting place for visitors to this beautiful part of Derbyshire’s Peak District, with unrivalled views across the Ladybower Reservoir. Join us for delicious food, to lay your head or for a good pint of Batemans and you’ll feel right at home. We’re dog friendly too so feel free to bring your well-behaved pets.
