- Walks from the door lead onto the high moors of Kinder and Bleaklow and around Ladybower reservoir and dams
- Mountain Biking – some of the best routes in the country are easily accessible from the centre
- Climbing – famous sites nearby include Stanage, Curbar and Millstone Edge
- Caving – Giants Hole and Peak Cavern are amongst many caves in the area
- Historic sites such as Chatsworth House, Eyam and Buxton are a short drive away
Adventurous Activities
Hagg Farm is licensed by AALA to deliver adventurous activities such as
- climbing
- caving
- abseiling
- canoeing
- gorge walking
- rock hopping
Activities on site include a climbing tower, indoor climbing wall, boulder, Jacobs ladder, zip wire, orienteering courses and problem solving
Individual programmes can be developed to meet curriculum requirements or to suit the needs of friends/family groups. Our team of experienced and qualified instructors are available to lead these activities at an additional cost.
Hagg Farm is a registered provider of national awards in mountain walking, climbing, caving and first aid and runs a number of these events throughout the year.
Group Accommodation
Hagg Farm offers comfortable high quality accommodation for up to 62 people in two separate units, one sleeping 44 the second sleeping 18. The accommodation units are available separately, with each group having sole use of their centre, or as one booking for larger groups. Self-catering and fully catered options are available.
Hagg Farm is the largest centre and has 8 bedrooms/dorms sleeping between 2-8 people. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, large group dining room, comfortable reception room, TV/Blue-ray, wi-fi, payphone, group PCs, games room, classroom and drying room and recently re-furbished facilities. There is a disabled toilet and shower and disabled person lift allowing access to the second floor.
The John Hunt Base, a separate annex within the grounds, provides accommodation for up to 18 people in 4 rooms sleeping 2-8. It has a lounge/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, TV/DVD, and payphone. Recently re-furbished facilities include disabled toilet and shower.
The grounds include car park, a field with climbing boulder and a wildlife garden, with access to surrounding woodlands and public footpaths/bridleways.
