Cycle Rides In Buxton

There is a wealth of cycle rides in Buxton and many of them are family friendly and take place along the tracks of former railways, such as Tissington Trail and the High Peak Trail, which only start a few miles to the south of Buxton at Parsley Hay.  They offer excellent cross country routes which pass close to many pretty villages and are totally traffic free. They are also very flat so are great for the little ones to tag along. Cycle rides in Buxton, sometimes can mean setting off and finding your own path but it’s great to know where you’re going. The land is quite hilly around Buxton town so if you like a challenge and are an experienced cyclist, then why not take off for the day?

All around Buxton there are various cycle rides and it is possible to make up your own pleasant circuit and return along fairly quiet country lanes  – which is not always feasible elsewhere in the Peak District. Going out on your bike is certainly a wonderful way to see the sights, sounds and smells of Derbyshire and experience the countryside from a cyclist’s view instead of from inside the car.
